A List of the Top Job Search Engines and The Way to Enhance your Job Search Skills
Most people know how bad the job market is these days and with the economy not showing any signs of getting better anytime soon, it looks as though the situation is not going to get better anytime soon. There is good news in all of this though. For those of you who are unemployed, the good news is that thanks to the internet and the world wide web there is a vast array of resources available today that will make it much easier than ever before to find a job, even in a really crummy job market like we are in today. For that reason we have put together a list of the top job search engines to help make your job search much easier.
Bear in mind as you browse through each site, that each one of them have different qualities. Some sites will return job openings that were posted specifically to each respective website, while other sites simply aggregate active job openings from all other sites. So let’s don’t waste anymore time, here is the listing of the top job search engines on the web today;
- Snagajob.com
- Tweetmyjobs.com
- Monster.com
- Jobster.com
- Craigslist.org
- Simplyhired.com
- Employmentguide.com
- USAjobs.gov
- LinkedIn.com
- Careerbuilder.com
- Beyond.com
- Jobs.oodle.com
- Indeed.com
- Jobserve.com
That is our list of the top job search engines on the internet today. And while this list is pretty comprehensive, there are really only a few of the sites that I would recommend that you spend a considerable amount of your time on. That’s because it is very important that you manage your time well and are as efficient as possible while job hunting. With that in mind here is the cream of the crop and the sites you should focus your time on; Careerbuilder.com, Craigslist.org, Monster.com.
And if would want me to be even more specific, I would highly recommend Careerbuilder.com based on my own personal experience as the number one employment search engine. What is so great about Careerbuilder is not only does it have the most up-to-date job openings compared to other job sites, it also has great job information resources which of course also includes letting you submit your resume and cover letter.
Also, one note in regards to using Craigslist.org job search engine. You must be careful when responding to a job ad in Craigslist because some of the jobs posted are bogus jobs. These are people who are simply just trying to obtain your personal information. If the ad does not post the employers name or contact info, then it is a scam.
You need to also be aware of job postings that aren’t actually job postings, but instead they are work at home job opportunities and or work at home scams. There are some legitimate work at home jobs out there, you just need to know where to look.
Another tidbit of information when doing your job search is to look at the date as to when the job was posted. Do not waste your time responding to a job ad that was posted 30 days ago for example. In that case the position probably would have more than likely been filled by that time.
Lastly, be wary of job search engines that charge a fee. While most of these fee based job search web sites are legitimate e.g. theladders.com, others you need to do more research on.
This concludes our list of the top job search engines on the internet today. Hopefully this information that we provided for you will greatly assist you in your future employment search efforts.
