When Your Kids Believe You Have The Ideal Job Then You Are Made Redundant What Is Next?
All mums and dads want their youngsters to be happy. So, you may go out to work to aid in paying for nice trips, give the kids treats, buy those expensive games that all their mates seem to have and the trendy clothes they hanker for.
Then, you become a really trendy parent because you land what your kids consider to be the best job – in my case that was working with mobile phones for one of the well known mobile phone firms. I got the opportunity to bring home phones which were not yet on the market, working with the latest technology, helping to locate bugs before the phones got to the shops. I was the trendiest mum!
How, then, do you let your children know that due to the recession, people are not buying as many phones and the firm is down-sizing, closing your site, and with this news, your job is disappearing. You will become one of the many redundant employees looking for a new job. Not only are you no longer involved with cutting technology, you now need to find another role – for you any job will do, but for the youngsters they still want to have the trendy mum. Lots of their chums’ mums are teachers, nurses, shop assistants. Their mum was special and they don’t want to give up that status.
So, you go through adverts, Online Jobs, job centre adverts, agency adverts, you dream about jobs, your whole life revolves around getting that next job. Then a little star shines out at you. You have seen what you think may be your textbook perfect new job. It is the prospect to start an Internet Business, with a new technology, and at the same time Work From Home. It could be you have found something that suits you and appeals to the kids at the same time.
When I was reading the Online Jobs, I came across an opportunity to join an Internet Business as a franchisee, which was actually affordable, so I did some investigations to be certain that the job was as it appeared in the advert.
This new role was in the field of search engine optimization. It said that I would need only basic internet skills, and all training would be included in the price I paid. As I have recently been taking Open University training in ITC, which included some of the skills which would transfer to this role, I was keen to find out more.
I had interviews and meetings with the founder of this franchise and we were both happy for me to join this Internet Business.
Another benefit was that I would be able to Work From Home. I already had a phone, computer, internet connection and access to a printer, which are really the only tools necessary to begin in this venture. Within weeks of seeing this advert in the Online Jobs, I had commenced my training. My youngsters are delighted that I am once again working with cutting edge technology and they love the fact that they can tell people I am now the owner of an Internet Business where I have the opportunity to Work From Home. Cool mum continues!
