The one off up front fee may possibly work well if there is not a lot of competition with other companies for the searches. In this case, the on line marketing involved in undertaking this one off work may just be enough to make all the difference to the site. However, if there is a lot of competition, then it may be that over time the company site] loses its position and slides back down the search results, not gaining much business for the firm at all.

Using pay per click techniques, if nobody visits your site, then there is no payment. This could be thought of as a good method of optimizing the site but these optimizers may be tempted to put the site together in a way that encourages clicks even when they do not relate directly to the client’s site.

Results driven optimization means that the client may not see instantly the results they want, but until they do, they will not have to pay the optimizer, so it is in the interest of both the client and the optimizer to ensure the site is well-balanced.
